Hello i am Cllr Barry Hunt, my main function is to represent Skinningrove for Loftus Town Council. i am also a member of skinningrove link up. in that capacity we are involved in many projects to enhance the village. at this moment in time the jetty project being the largest and most adventurous we have ever undertaken. we hope to see this project succeed and help the village of Skinningrove move forward.

So what’s going on with the jetty then? I’m from Middlesbrough and I’m really interested as to what’s going on but I’ve heard no news since the turn of the year. I think it’s historically important that the project happens.

What can I say but to congratulate you, Tommy and the team on all the work you have been doing and all the proposals for the future. It is inspirational. You can not be anything other than moved by the effort input into the many projects you have completed and have planned that will improve the life and environement of the residents of Skinningrove. This is first I have heard about refurb of the jetty, I hope it becomes a reallity, was down on jetty with our lass and youngest daughter yesterday, she like the old stories about when her dad was a kid living in the grove in 60′s and 70,s, as kids the jetty played a big part in our lives, keep us informed M8

I’ve just returned from a week’s holiday in Skinningrove, staying at the Power House up at the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum.
I just want to say I think the local community – you guys – are doing a fantastic job of brining the village alive. It really has so much history and desrves to have money spent on it so that it can tell its story to the rest of the world and reap the benefits of lots of visitors who will stay there rather than just walk through.
I loved it, I loved the village, the museum, the history and the community spirit. The girls in the fish and chip shop and in Shiela’s shop couldn’t have been nicer!
I wish you all the best with your plans for the future and hope to see some more changes when I return next year. I’ll keep looking at this site to see your progress in the meantime.
